Why the Bible
The bible is indeed a very unique book. It is a bestseller, sold worldwide and translated in over 1500 languages. However, despite its popularity it is hardly ever read in its entirety and worse yet, very little understood.People would mostly read the book in moments of desperation or just for inspiration and motivation. But the bible is more than just a book for when you are looking for motivation.
God's Manual
The bible is God's manual on how to live a moral and happy life. It is full of knowledge. You may not get all the information you need on every aspect of human life, but you will certainly learn a lot about spirituality. God gave us the ability and intelligence we need to acquire knowledge. There are just some things the bible will not be able to tell you. These things you can find out using your own intellect. However, if you look at the bible objectively, you will realize that the information and knowledge it does contain are those you will not find anywhere else.
A Spiritual Book
The bible is a book of spiritual truth. It will give you knowledge on material and physical matters such as finances, health, and even some science. However, it may not go into any great detail on them. It is the only book that outlines why man was created. The bible is an authentic book. Most of its contents can be verified and contrary to popular belief, scientific knowledge could never replace it. It is a book that is still relevant today.
A Book of Knowledge
Centuries ago, the bible was accepted as the true word of God, and it was the main source of knowledge in those days. Today, with the advent of science, the scriptures are being questioned and more people are doubtful about its authenticity. Religion and theology was an integral part of one's education. Now, God and the bible are no longer important. As the 20th century approached, people began to doubt the bible as being the inspired word of God. Even though there is evidence out there to support the scriptures, those who are adamantly opposed to the bible refuse to accept it.The only way to verify the authenticity of the scriptures is to put aside all skepticism and biases and study it with an open mind, as well as practice what it says. In the words of Immanuel Kant, the 18th century German Philosopher:
"The existence of the Bible as a book for the people is the greatest benefit which the human race has ever experienced. Every attempt to belittle it is a crime against humanity."
